Your Association (Website) Needs You

Last year we created this brand new CMBHA website for you – and we are delighted with its success. Since the site started some 9 months ago, we have had 6,650 visits and over 20,000 pages views.  However, we recognise that elements of the site need tidying up and improving . . . so we want your help.

We are looking for volunteers in two categories, “Editorial” and “Technical”.  This will involve occasional input into the website. Your contribution will of course get recognition on the website.

For “Editorial Team”, we are looking for a small team of people who can carry out tasks such as:

  • Contributing occasional articles on topics such as
    • life around the marina
    • boating
    • amusing stories
  • Maintaining the news pages
  • Adding the Mariners Notices to the websites
  • Add more photos of the environment
  • And generally contributing ideas that we think would be useful to our members

For the Editorial team you do not have to be at all technical, but you should be happy using Word and email.  No other "I.T." knowledge is needed.

Now to geeks corner! (and if you don’t understand the next paragraph, don’t worry!). . .

For the “Technical Team”, we would like (if possible) to identify people with one or more of the following skills:

  • Website design or writing skills
  • WordPress
  • Php programming skills
  • AJAX
  • Software Testing skills

If you can offer a modest amount of your time to become a member of either the Editorial team or the Technical team, then please email [email protected] with your contact details, and mention what areas you are interested in. We will not ask anyone to do more than they have time / skills to do.

Ideally, I would like to have a face-to-face meeting after the AGM on 16th April, but don't worry if you can't make the meeting

Many thanks

Martin Berman
