Your Website Wants You.
Last year we created this brand new CMBHA website for you – and we are delighted with its success. Since the site started some 9 months ago, we have had 6,650 visits and 20,000 page views. However, we recognise that elements of the site need tidying up and improving . . . so we want your help.
We are looking for volunteers in two categories, “Editorial” (NO technical knowledge required) and “Technical”. This will involve occasional input into the website. Your contribution will of course get recognition on the website. For more information, please click here.
Lift-Out Offer. This special offer is available to CMBHA members only. Full details are here. Note that special terms and conditions apply, which are listed on the webpage.
THE Social Event of the Season! Yes, the CMBHA Start of Season Supper Dance was held on Saturday 16th April, at Conwy Golf Club, and was a great success. Over £300 was raised for a Breast cancer charity.
Liverpool Boat Show CANCELLED. Very sadly the Liverpool Boat Show has been cancelled, owing to a number of major exhibitors pulling out at the last minute. For the full story, please go here.
Pump-out Station - Warning. The good news is that the pump-out station by the fuel pumps is now free of charge; and the pump is working. However, it appears that there is a problem in that in some cases the nozzle is not making a good seal with the boats waste outlet - and this can (and has) led to the danger of getting splattered. Not very nice! The Association has formally taken this up with the marina and had an assurance that a resolution is being looked into urgently.
Update - as a result of our representations, the Marina has now obtained adaptors for anyone who has had any problems with the sealing on the pump-out nozzle.
It goes without saying that blackwater must NEVER be emptied into the marina.
Gambling on the Weather? The weather is always a gamble, so the latest version of the Weather2 site (from where we and the marina get our forecasts) explicitly recognises this by assigning probabilities to some of their forecasts. Go here for the latest odds!
Dredging Programme. (updated as at 22/10/2010) The cutter suction dredging campaign by Land and Water Services is scheduled to start on or around the 29th October 2010 (subject to licencing). Equipment and dredging vessels were scheduled to start arriving at the marina on Monday 25th October. Details are here. Please note: precise details of the dredging are subject to change. For the latest information, please refer to the marina's newsletters or contact the marina directly.

They say that they are “. . . always looking for local boaters’ input . . .[so] please email [email protected].” So lets all email Sally and tell her about our cruising area . . and don’t forget to tell her about this great website! As well as telling her about the website (!), she also wants to know about cruising spots, marinas, anchorages etc.
