22 August 2025: Several members of CMBHA have asked us about the new fire alarm buttons installed on the pontoons, and the required response in the event of a fire. We have followed up with Boatfolk and they have prepared and shared with us some additional guidance. You can read it here: Fire Safety: Guidance for Berth Holders. They have also provided maps showing the location of the new fire alarm buttons (see here: Fire Alarm Buttons), and the location of fire safety ladders and throw rings are located on the pontoons. You can view that here: Fire Safety Ladders and Throw Rings
This supplements the existing Fire Safety information on the Boatfolk website. You can find this here: Conwy Marina Safety Information
Berth Holders should note that the new buttons, located at the shore end of most legs, are battery operated and are local alarms (i.e. not connected to the office). They are intended to be operated by berth holders in the event of a fire incident and evacuation.
We hope this clears up any confusion. Feel free to reach out to the CMBHA committee or Marina staff for any additional clarification.
